There I am, Formula 1 for #66 Ionut Patrascu

    Well, well

I did not really come with high expectations to this race, and the pace was obviously not there

I was doing very well at managing the fuel for the first stint as Manuel and Michele had to come in before me (presumably using boost) and I had a pretty good gap to P11. Scodellaro was too far ahead for me to worry so my job after pitting for my first load of fuel was to basically make sure Manuel stays behind for as long as possible, as I had a strategic advantage and more fuel anyway.

But as Patrascu is Patrascu and does Patrascu things, I control my PC with a phone that acts as a wheel (peak Romanian engineering) and a notification that I need to update something basically sent me into the wall at 250, which meant that I had to come in halfway into the second stint and I also changed to mediums, hoping for some progress until Pauwe comes in. I was very incosistent on mediums and Pauwe was late, and he came at such a perfect time that when I pitted to switch with him, I had 6 liters left in the tank.

Pauwe did a solid stint of his own but unfortunately due to my earlier shenanigans, he had to pit on the second to last lap to top up the fuel, just about losing P10 from Manuel and Michele which was a big shame, but a lot of fun.

It was really nice to race with a teammate and I am looking forward to maybe race with Pauwe again in a team in the future.

My race was actually pretty alright and most consistent to date (just one spin, lol). I stretched the mediums that I started with for 21 laps and I had light rear damage which held me in the pits for a bit and I was actually reeling Dragan and Mark in on softs and keeping my way faster teammate behind to my surprise. The strategy really worked very well because before pitting Mark was 27 seconds in front and despite a total stop time of I think 11 seconds I emerged 10 seconds from him and Dragan. I am happy to see improvements in my driving and despite finishing P13 I am well happy with it, being my first league experince. Onto the next one.

    Pauwe:

The penalty is really fair in my opinion and now I moved on with it. Get the next race in!

    Alberto:

I was pretty angry and to be fair I didn't need to retire from Race 2, but I learnt a valuable lesson and I learned from my mistake. The fight with you was really entertaining and I really really enjoyed it! See you next race!

I am writing this as race 2 unfolds so congrats Nicholas for the win in Race 1 and to well Nicholas again for the win in Race 2 (I will perhaps edit that afterwards-did it in fact).

I was off the pace as expected and as Race 1 went on, it was surprisingly better than expected and I had a race long battle for P9 with Alberto. It went really rather well for 9 laps of the race until Elia came to lap us. I looked too much into the mirror, locked up and hit Alberto, hindering Elia's race and perhaps taking a well deserved victory away from him. My fault entirely and I deserve the biggest penalty possible for that.

For Race 2 I smashed the wall on purpose on the formation lap and left the pits to get DQ'd because I felt it is appropriate. I guess I'll move on from this raceday.

I am really sorry to both Alberto and Elia, I know that it is not enough but yeah...

First of all congratulations to Nicholas for a great win, and I feel really really sorry that Crocy could not take part, that must have been really frustrating.

As a team, we came into the weekend with some problems and space for improvement for both. Stefano felt a lot of understeer in his car and was also struggling with low speed stuff and I couldn't really do a good pace on mediums. We planned to just keep our noses clean and record a double finish which we partly achieved (we'll get to that).

Qualifying was a surprise even for me, after a couple hundred laps of practice and I managed my best lap of all my laps with a 29.2 that put me 8th. Stefano on the other hand absolutely smashed it and put our other car on the second row of the grid (with a Honda, remember). I would say that given the nature of the circuit and our car we did really max out our grid position so we were looking good for the race.

Now from my perspective the race was better and worse at the same time. I started well, distanced myself from all the stuff going on and while braking for T1 I got hit and spun from behind, getting rear damage in the process. The next couple of laps were basically me trying to nurse the car and getting overtaken by a couple of faster guys. I had a coming together with Vincenzo due to me not initially knowing about the damage, I gave him the position back and eventually I made my first stop for mediums. There I picked up 11 seconds of damage and rejoined in what I believe was P14, and nothing too spectacular happened on my medium stint, I was quite slow as expected and I got hit by Vincenzo at T5 (quite understandable though). On lap 21 or 22 (I do not remember lol) I stopped for softs after getting overtaken by him and I rejoined behind Orontis which I easily overtook due to tyre advantage to claim a slightly better P11 in a race where I can say I was at the pace of others (especially on softs), I really felt like without the damage and the contacts because of it I could have finished in the top 10 but I am still happy that I was not miles slower than everyone like in Melbourne.

So in hindsight we got some serious development points, we are definitely going to improve the car in the next upgrade market and the team is going really well given our specs, 90 percent due to the speed and commitment of Stefano which I am really grateful for.

First of all congrats to Nicholas for the win,

From my side I had a really horrid race with mistakes and wasted potential of a two-stopper which seemed to work well after a lap 1 contact with Michele Molara (he lagged really badly and I hit him twice from behind). I decided to carry on with the suspension damage and on lap 2, Tarik and Julian crashed 3 corners from each other, and I got startled each time and hit the wall only to make the damage worse. I made my first stop on lap 8 and I was really getting back into the race until my controller disconnected temporarily on lap 12 I think, amazing luck.

I had more damage from that, I continued and actually I was gaining quite substantially on the guys in front and on my second stop for mediums, I released the pit limiter too early and I got a drive through. If my luck was not horrid enough at the drive through I got a stop and go and rejoined far far behind everyone in 14th. From there, Pomillo retired and in the dying laps I managed to reel Michele in with quite a clean and consistent stint to finish a disappointing 12th after a race with much potential for a nicer placing. Fortunately Stefano had a great race and finished 7th, and we get some nice development points for finishing the race with both cars.
